The book consists of the following four chapters: Chapter 1: A Brief Discussion of Mutual Complementarities of English and Chinese Advantages Chapter 2: Diagrammatic Analysis of Prefixes with Derivatives Chapter 3: Diagrammatic Analysis of Suffixes with Derivatives Chapter 4: Diagrammatic Analysis of Roots with Derivatives The book describes numerous derivatives by means of color glossaries and diagrams, including a flow chart of the intricate relationships between suffixes and derivatives. To explicitly express the derivatives, the book presents their noun, verb, adjective and adverb suffixes with their prefixes in different colors. The main features of the book are excellent in terms of both the pictures and texts; it explains the profound in simple terms that are easy to understand. The book combines learning English derivatives with understanding basic grammatical knowledge of relevant parts of speech so as to achieve a digesting effect. To facilitate readers’ organized memorization of the derivatives, the book summarizes the principal changing laws and various corresponding or contrastive relationships between approximately twenty thousand common derivatives by the analysis of color diagrams. To increase the intense interest of readers in learning numerous derivatives, the book explores and analyzes the profound mysteries of derivatives on the basis of both the scientific methods and the flower of academic study enunciated by famous Eastern and Western scientists, linguists, educators, literary writers, and thinkers across history. The common root and derivative vocabulary of Chapter 4 and the classified index of the derivatives with relevant prefixes and suffixes are stored in a PDF document, so that readers may, for example, quickly search for the derivatives with their roots, prefixes, and suffixes via the classified index and the diagrams. The document artfully interconnects colorful near-synonyms, antonyms, and approximate meaning roots with the component structures of relevant derivatives, which consequently constitutes a searching mode that is extensible in all directions. Readers can rapidly search for relevant derivatives by using the Classified Index, entering English or Chinese characters or the root code and so forth in the latest version or at least version 9.0 of the free Adobe Reader software (the edition of the mobile phone is Adobe Acrobat Reader), which has a variety of searching methods. The book not only synthesizes the knowledge of liberal arts and science, but also fully incarnates a multicultural scientific spirit. It is suitable as a reference for the readers who have the culture beyond junior middle school. It is hoped to help readers easily understand and memorize derivatives as well as identify strange words. You can also borrow the paperbacks of the book issued in 2018 from over 100 academic and public libraries in some countries.
